Buried Alive by our "To-Do" List

Just a quick update to tell you we are really busy right now. I have some great pictures from our anniversary weekend camping in Illinois. I'll share them soon. Everything else is on hold because of one huge project in our house; refinishing our hardwood floors. We have started moving furniture, ripping up linoleum, and we haven't even started sanding yet. Plus, now that Muny band has started, that takes up every Tuesday and Thursday. We haven't even totally unpacked from last weekend, but we are dedicated to the floors. At least I am. I think John thinks the whole thing is a little crazy, but I am strangely looking forward to it. I know all you peeps with kids think I am whining, and have no idea what it is like to be busy, but this is busy for us, so let's just leave it at that.

Let the sanding begin!

If you can't read it it says, "Mini-Rod Pull May 27-28 Wash. Fairgrounds." You can go if you want, but you can be sure you won't catch me pulling on a "mini" rod this weekend.

Can you believe

that Rachael Ray is going to be in St. Louis tomorrow for a book signing and I won't be there?

I don't.

Last year I posted a "beginning" picture of the garden, but never posted a middle or end because the garden was hijacked by weeds very early in the season last year. This year we are doing a little better. There are onions on the left, lettuce in the middle, and peas on the right. Tasty.

Praise The Lord and Pass the Ammunition

We had a weekend to do nothing, and how great is that? I sewed a skirt, we went to a Farmer's Market, I ran into an old friend, we went to the St. Louis Brewfest and drank lots of beer. I cooked lots of crazy meals. Take note: fish baked in salt tastes really salty. We got invited last minute to a Bachalorette party where we didn't even see the bride to be. I sang Kereoke (very high on the Elaine having fun list) hung out with old friends, brewed beer, and saw some of the family and got to show off the new skirt (stupid weather makes it too cold to wear the said new skirt yet.) And, I won the Survivor Fantasy Game. WooHoo! (said in Homer voice.) Check out the flickr badge for the picturesque highlights.
