He's Preoccupied with the Changes of my Body

He took this picture Friday night at Game Night unbeknownst to me.

I see you young and soft, oh little baby, Little feet, little hands, little feet, little feet, little baby

John and I are very excited to tell you that one of my New Year's Resolutions has come true. You know, the one about the baby, growing inside me, that's the resolution that I'm talking about. We are way excited. I will have to admit that I have been fairly nervous, but the first trimester is behind me, and I'm feeling a little bit more at ease. I haven't had too much nausea, and have only gained a few pounds so far, so sometimes it seems like a dream. But then we see the ultrasounds and hear the heartbeat, and the dream becomes full fledged reality all over again. I am due around Christmas, which sucks for this little baby, but we're thinking of naming him or her Jesus, or Nicholas, or Klaus. Susanne in Germany's next door neighbor's name is Klaus. Speaking of Susanne, she has trouble with some of our lingo sometimes, and somewhere along the way she called having a "bun in the oven" having "bacon in the oven." John likes to tease her that very rarely in America do we cook bacon in the oven. And he would know. Anyway, I'm looking forward to calling her and telling her I have bacon in my oven.

17 days since I've posted. June seems to be a really busy month for us. I don't have a really good response, like we are refinishing our hardwood floors, or have tons of visitors; I guess we're just busy. We did have Aunt Linda come to town, which was awesome and a lot of us did the Race for the Cure this year. Somehow I managed to take zero pictures of Aunt Linda, which bums me out now.

Friday we had another Game Night

and we celebrated Sara's birthday.

Becky's daughter, Ruthie is so cute and well behaved. She did a great job drawing us all pictures at the Indian restaurant, and had fun showing me all around Becky's new renovated house. While we were in Becky's bathroom, Ruthie shows me the makeup and says, "this is where mommy puts on her makeup." Then Ruthie grabs a can of Oust and says, "this is what mommy likes me to spray when she farts." Priceless.

Fiesty

Which is better; ketchup or mustard? Not honey dijon or anything like that, we're talking real yellow mustard.

Here's where I use my blog to be a brat and tell you that we also disagreed on whether the Sesame Street characters were Muppets, and if Kermit the Frog was on Sesame Street. The answers are yes and yes, in which case I was right twice. That one is not really an opinion type thing, so no need to debate, just a need of mine to tell you I won that one fair and square. I know my Muppets.

Another to ponder...

Do you consider "halfway there" to be the same as "living on a prayer?"
