My Own Peculiar Way

Possibly one of the funniest hat or not hat; this is little Gavin's birthday with Willie Nelson braids and bandana on.

New Best Friend

Our room at Tan Tar a had a full length mirror as the closet doors, and Cecilia was fascinated by the "baby" in the mirror. It was really funny. She kept looking, and pointing, and moving an arm or leg, and even kissing the other baby. Precious.

This will probably be the last picture for awhile of my favorite tree because it is getting brighter earlier in the morning, and by the time I pass this tree on my way to work in the morning, the sun is much higher in the sky.

I Have Become Cumbersome

This is my 29th week. Looks a little different than last time. All in all, this pregnancy has gone pretty smooth, but it has really switched into high gear lately. I am in official slow motion, which is frustrating for someone who does everything quickly. I have a hard time getting out of the car, bed, tub. Blah. Don't even dare to ask about my varicose veins- they have taken over my legs, and it's not pretty. I can't stand for very long periods of time- there is immense pressure on my pelvic bones and I start to feel light headed from all the blood heading south. It's harder to prepare for this one emotionally. I spend a lot of time tending to Cecilia, and not so much time thinking about how life will be after this little one gets here. Cecilia has recently gotten a baby doll, so I guess we'll practice with the doll for awhile. Right now she body slams the doll. I signed her up for a sibling class at the hospital, but really, how much is she going to get from that? We have no bed for the new baby, almost nothing new at all for the poor little thing. I did buy a coming home from the hospital dress.
I can't believe I'm going to be this sloth like for so many more weeks.

Bigger Than a Bread Basket?

This picture cracks me up. This is Katie from Peaceful Bend Winery. You might have seen her post a comment here or there. Last weekend we were at Tan Tar A for the annual Midwest Wine and Grape Conference, and Monday night was the Grand Banquet where we had a 3 hour, 6 course meal, each course paired with a different wine. We were honored to have the Sainte Genevieve Winery Blackberry served as the aperitif. Anyway, Dad, Lesa and I sat with Katie and her husband Clyde and a couple other people, and we laughed the night away. I always think it is particularly funny when you are supposed to be proper and instead you are inappropriate. We spent way too much of the evening talking about the Bacon Bra. I commented that the bacon was raw and my husband would never go for that, so we spent the rest of the evening trying to devise a way to fry the bacon but still have it in the shape of a bra...a small collander perhaps, a handheld strainer? Clyde suggested Canadian bacon. We laughed and laughed until we cried. Lesa overheard what we were giggling about and then Dad asked what the commotion was, and Lesa told him she'd have to tell him later. This was definently not a conversation for Dad.

In the midst of all our silliness, Katie remembered our game and wanted to play too, so we took the napkin full of bread out of this bread basket, and put it on her head. Later when Dad asked for another roll, we just put the napkin and the rolls back into the basket and hoped there weren't any hairs that made the trip.

At the end of the evening we decided we should all sit together next year, and I hope they weren't just drunk when they said that.

Little Cutie

This one is pretty obvious, but awfully cute. Wish I could read the writing. Does it say something about Arkansas?

This is my roomate from Fresno's little girl, Abigail. I haven't seen her in years, and have never met her daughter, but isn't the internet a wonderful thing?

So far we've had entries from Florida and California. What state will be next?

Time for the first "non Mooney" entry, coming all the way from Florida. These are Heather's two boys, Gabriel first, then Jack. Looks like they are naturals at this game. I, for one, am quite fond of the word "Balls" on the first one. Seems fitting for a game John would make up.

Focus...Dedication

I'll be away from the blog for a few days, so now's your chance to send me photos. Over the weekend find out how fun it is to play the game, snap a few shots, and send them to me. I have a few participants all ready to go, can't wait to share those with you.

This was taken on the last day of vacation, somewhere in Kentucky at a Pizza Hut. John put napkins on her head.

mama don't take my kodachrome away

I got a nikon camera
I love to take a photograph

This is something else I did while John was gone, took her upstairs and played around in her room and took some pictures. The lighting is great up there, and I love the books, hardwood floors, and her sweater which we saw earlier here on a different baby. Hand me downs rock.
