It's time to lose your mind and let the crazy out.

John and I seem to plan household projects around busy times in our lives, and now that we're in the thick of it, I'm annoyed that our previous engagements are keeping us from progressing on the kitchen. This week we were both busy on Monday, and Wednesday evening, and I worked late on Thursday evening, so that really only left Tuesday to get anything done. And so, we hung the cabinet above the refrigerator. Friday night John had a football game, and we had B&B guests, and then yesterday we were home for about an hour before we had to go pour wine all evening in St. Charles. This morning we were able to get a little done before the days events sweep us off in other directions again. The pictures show the two corners of our kitchen, before and after we placed the floor cabinets. John needs to cut a hole in the cabinet under the sink for the water, and then we need to talk to someone to help us with the countertop and we will probably need help with installing the dishwasher, which goes in between the lazy susan and the sink. The next like 5 weekends we are booked solid, so here's hoping we can get a lot accomplished during the workweek.

John and I are pretty excited to have this small part finished. Two wall cabinets hung; seven to go, and that doesn't even include the floor cabinets. Even in this small area, there is still lots to do, including door hardware, and we are planning to paint the stove white, instead of the nasty avocado green that it is now. Plus, we hope to do crown molding maybe next year.
We have all next weekend wide open, and help on the way...so stayed tuned for frequent updates.

Here's a belly update. It's definitely bigger now. I'm just starting my 24th week, which I guess makes me starting my 6th month. I have a doctor's appointment tomorrow, but so far everything is going well. I can feel her move around a lot, and even John has felt it a time or two. Just in the last couple days my fingers have begun to swell so that my rings feel tight. Hopefully cooler weather will make that go away. I feel weird walking around all pregnant without a wedding ring on.

You know we can't go to a Cardinal's game without sharing some pictures. This time we sat in the bleachers, and John hates the bleachers, but I was happy to have a good view of Jim Edmonds. The top picture is of Jim Edmonds catching a ball. The bottom picture is of me and Eckstein, well a cardboard figure of Eckstein. I found it amusing that I was taller than him. The game was hot, and we both got a little sunburned, but we came home with a win, and that's all that counts.Labels: E, out and about
These are the cabinets we purchased. I'm so excited about this project. We still have a lot to buy including a new sink, the DISHWASHER, faucet, countertops, "toe kick" bottom part of the cabinets, hardware, maybe a disposal. I dream day and night of open, clean, pristine counter top and John frets night and day about how to install it all.Labels: home

One of my many projects I'm in the middle of right now is this rug project for the baby's room. Becky has convinced me that if I buy this fleece, and cut it up in little strips, that it will turn into a rug, similar to the last picture. She is doing one too, and she has a small head start on me.
